Safety and compliance

Important safety instructions

Read all safety instructions before operating this equipment, and keep them for future reference.

  • Power. UNA is powered via USB-C. Use only a USB-compliant power source rated to supply at least 500 mA at 5 V DC (standard USB 2.0). Do not use a damaged cable or power adapter.
  • Liquids. Do not expose UNA to rain, moisture, or any liquid. Do not place liquid-filled containers on or near the unit.
  • Heat. Do not place UNA near heat sources such as radiators, stoves, amplifiers, or in direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Operating temperature: 0 °C to 40 °C (32 °F to 104 °F).
  • Cleaning. Clean only with a dry cloth. Disconnect all cables before cleaning.
  • Ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • No user-serviceable parts. UNA contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not open the unit. If you have any issues please contact Midicake support.
  • Modifications. Do not modify UNA. Modifications not expressly approved by Midicake Ltd may void your warranty and any regulatory compliance.
  • Damage. Discontinue use and contact Midicake support if UNA has been damaged, exposed to liquids, dropped, or does not operate normally.

Hearing warning

UNA does not produce audio itself, but it drives audio equipment that can produce sound at potentially damaging levels. Prolonged exposure to high sound-pressure levels can cause permanent hearing loss.

  • Start each session at a low volume and increase gradually.
  • Take regular breaks from loud playback.
  • Consult a doctor if you experience ringing in your ears, hearing loss, or discomfort.
  • Consider using hearing protection when performing or rehearsing at high volumes.

Regulatory compliance

United Kingdom - UKCA. UNA is designed to comply with the applicable UK Statutory Instruments covering electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS). The Declaration of Conformity will be made available from midicake.com/contact-us.

European Union - CE. UNA is designed to comply with the applicable EU directives, including the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU) and the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU as amended). The Declaration of Conformity will be made available from midicake.com/contact-us.

WEEE (EU / UK). The crossed-out wheelie-bin symbol on the packaging indicates that this product must not be disposed of with general household waste at end of life. Take it to a designated collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Correct disposal helps prevent negative consequences for the environment and human health.

Other markets. UNA is manufactured in the United Kingdom. If you are using UNA outside the UK or EU, please check your local regulations regarding the import and use of electronic equipment; compliance with regional requirements outside the UK and EU has not been certified.
